Another point that distinguishes Sprenger chains is the high-gloss surface. While other manufacturers only pickle their chains before electroplating, Sprenger uses a special type of high-gloss polishing. Pickling means that the metal is freed from non-metallic particles and oil. However, these chains have no surface polish. The advantage of polishing is that the surface becomes much smoother and a nice shine is created. After polishing, the chains are nickel and chrome plated.
